July 31, 2000 I love the idea of Mozilla. I really do. I was as excited as anybody when Netscape released the source. I have wanted, do want and will continue to want the thing to succeed. But I've also been on enough lost-in-the-desert projects to recognize when things are going very, very badly. And the stink coming off of the Mozilla Project is stomach-turning. Sometimes, it's better to just cut your losses, save what can be saved, and move on. Sometimes, a good idea doesn't always work out. Sometimes, you just need to say enough is enough. ★
